Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). The submission will not be later submitted for publication elsewhere while JAAM is still considering it.
  • The submission file is in PDF document file format with an abstract. We prefer PDFs generated via LaTeX, but for initial submissions PDFs generated from .doc and .docx file formats are also acceptable.
  • The authors agree to do the final typesetting of their article (in the event of it being accepted for publication) using the journal's LaTeX style file. If you are new to LaTeX then there is ample documentation available in free services such as Overleaf.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The submitting author warrants that all the authors of the paper agree to it being submitted to JAAM in this form.

Author Guidelines

JAAM is a fully-refereed electronic journal with high standards, publishing papers of substantial content and interest in all branches of pure and applied mathematics. High quality surveys are also considered for publication. Submitted manuscripts must be original and self-contained. There is no page limit, so please include all relevant details. The writing must be in English and be unambiguous and grammatically correct. The journal does not display logos, emblems or flags on published papers.

Please read the following information carefully.

Manuscripts intended for publication in JAAM preferably must be typed in LaTeX and a pdf copy of the paper must be submitted online after registration. For initial submissions we accept pdf copies of documents generated via .doc or .docx files. Authors should keep in mind that the final accepted version of a manuscript must be submitted in LaTeX. if you are new to LaTeX then ample documentation can be found here. If you are a student and new to LaTeX or finding it difficult to submit in LaTeX, then please write to the Journal Manager and we will help you with your initial submission.

Manuscript Style:

Manuscripts (including bibliographies, tables, etc.) should be typed double spaced on A4 size white paper with 1 inch (2.5 cm.) margins on all sides with font size 11 pt., in LaTeX.

A template can be found here.

Sections should appear in the following order:
Title Page,
 Abstract,
Text,
 Notes and
 References.

Title Page: The Title page should include the manuscript title, author(s) names & permanent affiliations and the name, address & e-mail address of the author to whom page proofs is required to be sent.

Abstract: The article should include an abstract of not more than 300 words, a list of two to six key words and AMS subject classification (2020).

The abstract should be informative, clear, and as complete as possible. Do not include any equations as far as possible and no unexpanded citations (such as "[3]"). Authors can also include an Assamese abstract below the English abstract. This is optional.

Text: The introduction should have the heading number 1. Subsequent section headings (including appendices) should be designated by Hindu-Arabic numerals (2,3, etc.) and subsection headings should be numbered 2.1, 2.2, etc. Figures, tables and displayed equations should be numbered sectionwise consecutively throughout the text (1.3, 2.5, etc.). Equation numbers should appear flush right in parentheses and running variables for equation flush right in parentheses.

Always use \eqref to recall equations in the article text.

References: Responsibility for the accuracy of bibliographic citations lies entirely with the Authors. Examples are available in the LaTeX template. In case of doubt, please use the style of ZbMath.

Illustration Style: Originals for illustrations should be sharp and of good contrast. Each Figure and Table should be mentioned in the text and numbered consecutively using Hindu-Arabic numerals. For each Figure and Table, its desired location in the text should be clearly specified. Each Figure and Table must have a caption. Example of proper style for captions : Figure 1.4 or Table 1.2. Suggested Figure formats are : TIFF, EPS, PDF and PS (preferably PDF). Tikz figures are also fine.

Submission Information

All new submissions must use the web-based system available at this website. When submitting a manuscript, you should enter the name, affiliation and email address of each author. Be sure to include accents directly without using LaTeX commands. The names will appear on the table of contents exactly as you enter them, so please put them in the correct order.

You will be prompted to enter an html version of your abstract, in addition to the abstract contained in the main LaTex file. In the html abstract, LaTeX math commands are acceptable, but do not include user-defined LaTeX macros or non-math LaTeX formatting commands, such as \emph{...} or \textbf{...}. Instead, use the html formatting buttons provided. In this stage please do not include the optional Assamese abstract.

The article itself should be submitted as a single PDF file (including appendices). Don't upload any source files at this stage.

Journal Policies

Read the journal's policies, especially the section on the editorial process.

Final Version

Manuscripts accepted for publication must be prepared using the JAAM LaTeX style file. In particular, LaTeX should run on your paper without reporting errors such as overfull hboxes. Do not alter the style files as we will use our own copy. It is alright to inlcude any user defined macros in the .tex file of the final submission only.

Upload a PDF of your paper, and upload all source files as "supplementary files". Include all of your LaTeX (including the bibliography) in a single file. If there are more than one source file then please upload them as a .zip file.

If your LaTex file imports image files, create a zip or tar file that includes the LaTeX file and all of the files it imports, then upload the zip/tar file as a single supplementary file. Do not upload images as individual supplementary files, since they will be renamed by the system and we won't know what they are. The preferred format for image files is PDF, but EPS, TIFF and PS formats are also acceptable.
